Process Greening
Currently, the concept of Process Greening has moved beyond being a simple marketing strategy or corporate social responsibility to become a fundamental pillar of industrial engineering. This discipline no longer seeks only maximum production efficiency and the reduction of financial costs, but has integrated the environmental variable as a critical factor in industrial design and operation. Process Greening is the guarantee that industry can continue to operate in a future where resources are finite and the demand for sustainability is non-negotiable.

In the Process Greening specialty, you will learn concepts related to the environmentalization of industrial processes through a strategic approach that includes measures promoting sustainability through the reduction of atmospheric pollution, the incorporation of sustainable materials considering their life cycle, the improvement of environmental management, the use of cleaner technologies, the promotion of the circular economy, and the improvement of energy efficiency.
You will acquire knowledge of chemical engineering and materials engineering through training that combines academic learning with real experience in companies within these sectors. You will be trained as a professional capable of designing, directing, and coordinating activities, processes, and products, as well as methodologies for analysis, sizing, management, and maintenance in the field of green engineering.
How you will learn
The specialty consists of 5 subjects, 3 of which are taught at ETSEIB entirely in English. The subjects Practical Application of the Efficient and Sustainable Use of Materials in Engineering and Practical Application of Minimizing Environmental Impacts in Industry will be carried out entirely in companies within the sector. This implies that a series of learning outcomes must be achieved in the industry, related to aspects of sustainability, the environment, and materials.
Teaching methodologies include expository and participatory classes, laboratory practices, project-based learning, industry visits, and seminars, reinforcing the competence of autonomous learning.
This specialty has a practical focus aimed at facilitating the students' transition into the professional world.
Career opportunities
The general profile of the degree prepares you to perform the functions of:
