Energy

Energy management is one of the great challenges of our time and will be key to the future. The progress of any society depends on it, and it has a direct impact on social welfare and the balance of the planet. In a sector in constant transformation, professionals are needed with the capacity to understand the current energy system, propose improvements, and design innovative and sustainable solutions.

Especialitat Energia

In the Energy specialty, you will acquire a global and current vision of generation, storage, and efficient energy use systems. You will learn to optimize the use of different energy sources from a technical, economic, environmental, and social perspective. You will be trained in thermal utilization, both at the building scale and in industrial heating and cooling networks, and you will develop competencies to design new products, processes, and methods within energy engineering.

By taking this specialty, you will prepare yourself to lead the energy transition and provide real value in a field with a fundamental role for the future.

How you will learn

The specialty has 3 subjects of 10 ECTS each that cover the necessary content to gain expertise in the field of energy engineering and, at the same time, guarantee a balanced combination of knowledge transmission, solving small challenges, laboratory experimentation, company visits, and the development of a complete engineering pre-project.

In the subjects "The Energy Sector" and "Energy Use and Management" you will apply your learning in guided projects carried out mainly in the classroom. In this way, you will put various technologies into practice, identifying their advantages and disadvantages at technical, economic, environmental and social levels.

In the subject "Integrated Energy Project" you will carry out a team pre-project, in which aspects such as team management and task distribution, the study of alternatives, data science, risk analysis, and the public defense of the project play a relevant role. This learning will help you develop skills linked to the professional world.

Career opportunities

The general profile of the degree prepares you to perform the functions of:

  • Project Engineer, Technical Consultant, Process Analyst, Maintenance Manager, Production Manager, R&D Engineer, Innovation Coordinator, Technical Auditor, Technical Sales Engineer, Quality Manager.
