Mining Laboratory (Mining Exploration and Exploitation)

Multidisciplinary laboratory with a mineral and rock sample preparation area, a microscopy area and a classroom with connectivity to be able to work with mining modeling software.

Teaching

At the teaching level, the classroom is used for small group theoretical and practical classes, particularly the mineral, rock and fossil identification classes of the Degree in Mining Engineering. In the microscopy laboratory, practices are carried out in the subjects of the Degree in Mining Engineering:

  • Mineralogy and Petrology
  • Aggregates, Cement and Concrete

The entire laboratory serves students who perform TFGs and TFMs in the field of prospecting and mining

Research

Preparation of mineral and rock samples and their microscopic analysis for Conventions and Research Projects

Other activities

Workshops aimed at Secondary School students, Middle School Training Cycles (CFGM) and Higher Training Cycles (CFGS) on the use of software, testing of soundings and microscopy
