Presentation
The Doctorate Degree at UPC grants an official university formation, whose purpose is the acquisition of the competences and abilities related to high-level scientific research. The studies lead to the award of the Doctoral Degree, which is official and valid throughout the Spanish national territory.
Legislation
Doctoral studies at UPC are regulated by Royal Decree 99/2011, which aims to organize doctoral studies (third cycle of official university education). They are part of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA).
Quality assurance
The adhesion of the Spanish university system to the EHEA entails, among other commitments, the implementation of a system that guarantees the quality of the training offered in higher education. The quality of our degrees is guaranteed by the verification and accreditation procedures they must pass. These procedures include evaluations both internal and external to the University, which ensures continuous improvement.
You can consult here the Internal Quality Assurance System (SGIQ) of the Doctoral School of the UPC.
Registry of Universities, Centers and Degrees (RUCT)
The Royal Decree 1509/2008, created the Registry of Universities, Centers and Degrees (abreviated like RUCT in Spanish), in which Universities and university degrees of an official and valid throughout the Spanish national territory must be registered.
In this list there are the programs that we manage in our ETSAB Doctoral Secretary's Office (Architecture, Urban Planning and Building area) and their registration data in the RUCT:
