Professional experience
Work and professional experience can only be recognized for credit in undergraduate degree programs that include mandatory or optional external curricular internships.
The maximum number of credits that can be recognized is:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Optics and Optometry (2020 plan): professional experience cannot be recognized as optional or mandatory ECTS credits.
- Master’s Degree in Optometry and Vision Sciences (2022 plan): 6 ECTS
The minimum number of credits that can be recognized is 6 ECTS for every 1,600 certified working hours. If necessary, depending on the number of credits remaining for the degree, it is possible to authorize the recognition of a lower number of credits, provided that the minimum number of working hours corresponds to 1,600 hours. After the recognition of the first 6 credits (1,600 certified hours), work experience can be recognized for credit proportionally, up to the maximum allowed by the degree program for external internships.
